Human

I created this woodblock print set, titled ‘Human’, in an independent study in printmaking with artist J Leigh Garcia.
In this study, I explored gender labels, text, and imagery and the way society aligns these. I created tension with texture and color and repetition. The message of this project is not to disregard the pronoun labels one assigns themselves but to honor the idea that we are all human, you, me…a collective we. And ‘we’ deserve a safe and welcoming space to use whatever pronouns feels right for our identity.
